MicroSync Digital - the Smallest, Smartest Wireless Strobe Sync System.

Fire an SLR and Strobes Together

Using the MicroSync™ Digital to fire an SLR and Strobes Together:

The MicroSync™ system can be used to fire an SLR & strobes simultaneously. With two MicroSync™ systems and a camera firing cord, you can remotely fire your SLR & strobes perfectly in sync. You now have the freedom to fire your SLR and lights without having to be behind the camera.

What you need:
  1. Two MicroSync™ Digital Kits.
  2. An SLR camera with a universal hot shoe and an electronic shutter release input. If your camera doesn’t have a universal hot shoe, click here.
  3. A strobe with a ¼” mono plug or household plug (aka two prong) sync input. If your strobe doesn’t have either, click here.
  4. A camera firing cord for your SLR. To see available camera firing cords, click here.
How to do it:
  • Turn on your camera and strobe.
  • Place the first MicroSync™ transmitter into your camera’s hot shoe. See Photo #1.
  • Open the battery compartment of the first MicroSync™ receiver and install the “AA” batteries (included with the kit) in the first MicroSync™ receiver. See Photo #2.
  • Plug the first MicroSync™ receiver into your strobe’s sync input. See Photo #3.
  • Set the auto-power off feature on your camera to “off”. See Photo #4.
  • Plug the camera firing cord into your SLR’s electronic shutter release input. See Photo #5.
  • Open the battery compartment of the second MicroSync™ receiver and install the “AA” batteries (included with the kit) in the second MicroSync™ receiver. See Photo #2.
  • Attach the second MicroSync™ receiver to your tripod. There are two ways to do this:
    Option #1 - Using Velcro.

Place one side of the Velcro on the second MicroSync™ receiver. See Photo #6. Place the other side of the Velcro on to the leg of your tripod. See Photo #7. Stick the second MicroSync™ receiver to the leg of the tripod.
Option #2 – Using the Lanyard.

Thread the small cord end of the lanyard (included in the MicroSync™ Kit) through the islet on the second MicroSync™ receiver. See Photo #8. Pull the large cord end of the lanyard through the loop of the small cord end. See Photo #9. Pull the large cord end snug. See Photo #10. Hang lanyard around the tripod. See Photo #11.
  • Plug the sub-mini phone end of the camera firing cord into the output of the second MicroSync™ receiver. See Photo #12.
  • Within 10 seconds of plugging the sub-mini phone end of the camera firing cord into the output of the second MicroSync™ receiver, insert the end of the paperclip into the Channel Select Opening of the second MicroSync™ transmitter and press the down once. See Photo #13. This step is necessary so that the second MicroSync™ transmitter and receiver are on a different channel than the first MicroSync™ transmitter and receiver.
  • While holding the MicroSync™ transmitter in your hand, press the test fire button to fire the camera. See Photo #14.
